BIO

Brad concentrates exclusively in the area of family law including litigation, divorce, legal separations, child custody, parentage, premarital and postnuptial agreements, grandparent’s rights as well as all post-decree, enforcement, and modification matters covering Cook, DuPage, Will, and Lake Counties. Brad is recognized in the legal community for not only his extensive knowledge of the law, but his thorough preparation, superb writing ability, and outstanding courtroom presence. He has been acknowledged and praised for his vigorous representation of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, from high net-worth individuals to volunteering his time with pro se litigants.

Brad graduated with honors from Indiana University-Bloomington, obtaining duel Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology, while gaining valuable experience as a law clerk for the Monroe County (IN) Public Defender’s Office. Brad then attended Golden Gate University (CA) School of Law, and while obtaining his law degree, worked as a law clerk in the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. He also served as the editor of the International Law Review and also helped edit and research the California Real Estate Forms Second Edition (Thomson West 2006). After law school, Brad joined and was soon made a partner of a prestigious family law firm in the western suburbs of Chicago where he remained for seven years and honed his family law prowess by bringing hundreds of cases to successful resolution through negotiation, the pre-trial process and multi-day evidentiary trials.

While practicing full-time, Brad continued his educational pursuits at night by earning his Masters of Law (LL.M) degree in Family Law from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. At Kent, Brad was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in “Advanced Legal Writing” as well as “Children and Divorce”, two prestigious accolades that only select few receive.

In recognition of Brad’s skill set, he was named to the Super Lawyers list as Illinois’ “Rising Stars” in the area of Family Law for the years 2010-2012, 2015-2021. This peer nominated honor is bestowed on only a small fraction of the attorneys in the state.

In 2015, 2016, and 2017, Brad was also named an “Emerging Lawyer” by Illinois Leading Lawyers and a Top 100 Matrimonial & Family Lawyer by The National Advocates.

Brad also actively participates in several bar associations, having chaired the Media Committee of the DuPage County Bar Association and produced its television show, Legal Action. In addition, Brad has been appointed to serve the Illinois State Bar Association’s Child Law Section Council and the Judiciary Evaluations Committees to investigate and recommend judicial candidates for both the DuPage County and Chicago Bar Associations.

Brad frequently works the DuPage County Legal Help Desk at the courthouse, volunteers his time to assist litigants during “Pro Se Day” in Will County, and was an advocate helping individuals prepare and present Emergency Orders of Protection at the Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse in Chicago. Due to his pursuits both inside and out of the courtroom, Brad received the Pro Bono Service Award from the DuPage County Bar Association in 2009.

The results Brad obtains for his clients are reflective of his varied background, comprehensive experience, courtroom acumen, as well as the strategic approach developed for each case.
